United Airlines discovers loose bolts on several Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft.

A panel blew off an aircraft operated by Alaska Airlines during a flight on Saturday, resulting in the grounding of the aircraft model. United Airlines has discovered loose bolts and other “installation issues” on multiple 737 Max 9 planes, which belong to the same Boeing model that was grounded after the panel incident. The Air Current, an industry publication, reported that United found discrepant bolts on different parts of at least five panels inspected after the accident. The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Boeing declined to provide comments. In a statement, United Airlines confirmed that during preliminary inspections, installation issues were found in the door plug, such as bolts requiring additional tightening. These issues will be addressed by their Tech Ops team to safely return the aircraft to service.
