The key Israeli military command centre is struck by a drone attack carried out by Hezbollah.

The IDF has reported no damage or casualties following an attack on the Safed base by the Lebanese militant group. This marks the first time that Hezbollah has targeted the site, launching explosive drones as a response to recent Israeli assassinations in Lebanon.

Prior to the Hezbollah attack, an Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon resulted in the deaths of three individuals. The group cited these assassinations as reasons for the strike.

Amidst these escalating tensions, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is currently touring the Middle East in an effort to prevent the conflict between Israel and Hamas from spreading further.

Video footage and Israeli media reports verify that at least one drone landed within the base area, causing smoke from the explosion. This follows a recent attack on the Mount Meron airbase, which caused significant damage.

The ongoing exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah is raising concerns about the potential regional spread of the conflict. Both sides have witnessed significant casualties and forced many residents to flee their homes during the past three months of hostilities.

Wissam al-Tawil, a senior Hezbollah figure responsible for directing operations in southern Lebanon, was the highest-ranking member of the group killed in the current violence.

In response to Tawil’s assassination, Hezbollah circulated photos of him meeting with the group’s secretary general.
