The identity of the teenager who was fatally stabbed in London has been released as Harry Pitman.

A 16-year-old boy, Harry Pitman, was fatally stabbed while waiting to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks on Primrose Hill in London. Despite efforts by paramedics to resuscitate him, he could not be saved. The Metropolitan police responded to the scene and arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. DCI Geoff Grogan expressed condolences to Harry’s family and friends and urged anyone with information to come forward. Harry’s tragic death marks the 22nd teenager to be murdered in London in 2023, with 18 of the cases involving stabbings.
The incident occurred in a crowded area, with officers and medical personnel performing CPR for at least 10 minutes before confirmation of Harry’s death. Primrose Hill is a popular spot for watching the London Eye fireworks, and thousands of people had gathered there. Forensics teams arrived later in the day to investigate, while the police provided increased patrols in the area. Some local residents expressed concerns about antisocial behavior in the park, mentioning drugs and alcohol as ongoing issues.
Councillor Pat Callaghan, from Camden council, emphasized the collaboration with the police in the investigation and the commitment to keeping young people safe in Camden.
