Sara Sharif: Three relatives enter a plea of innocence in the murder case of a 10-year-old.

Three members of Sara Sharif’s family, including her father Urfan Sharif, stepmother Beinash Batool, and uncle Faisal Malik, are set to stand trial in September.

The trio has pleaded not guilty to the murder of 10-year-old Sara, whose body was found at their home in Woking, Surrey, on August 10th.

During a video link appearance at the Old Bailey, all three defendants denied the charges. The trial is scheduled for September next year.

Additionally, they pleaded not guilty to causing or allowing the death of a child between December 16, 2022, and August 9, 2023.

Prior to the discovery of Sara’s body, the defendants had already left the UK for Pakistan, as revealed during an earlier court hearing. The police were alerted by a call from Pakistan at 2:47 am on August 10th. It was also disclosed that the defendants had booked a flight to Pakistan two days before.

Prosecutors informed the Old Bailey that Sara had shown evidence of “a constellation of healed and healing injuries”.

The three defendants returned to the UK on September 13th with five children and were arrested upon landing at Gatwick airport.
