Remains found in hunt for Norwich woman Gaynor Lord, who was reported missing.

A body was retrieved from the River Wensum on Friday, almost a week after Lord was reported missing, according to Norfolk police.

The body, although not formally identified, has been discovered in the search for Gaynor Lord, a 55-year-old woman who vanished after leaving her workplace in Norwich on Friday afternoon, authorities stated.

Divers were observed recovering the body from the River Wensum around noon on Friday, which was approximately a week after her disappearance was reported.

The location, marked by an orange buoy, was about 100 meters downstream from the focus of the previous day’s search.

Previously, officers stated that there was a “high probability” that Lord entered the river at Wensum Park, near where some of her belongings were discovered. They also mentioned an absence of evidence suggesting third-party involvement.

Norfolk police said, “A body has been found in the River Wensum during the search for Gaynor Lord. This morning, underwater search teams discovered the body in the river and it has now been retrieved.”

Although the body has yet to be formally identified, Lord’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specially trained officers.
