Jalen Hurts’ status now in question as illness takes a turn for the worse.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts may not play in Monday night’s game against Seattle due to an illness, according to a source familiar with his situation. The source, who spoke anonymously because the injury report hasn’t been released, mentioned that Hurts will travel separately from the team. If Hurts is unable to play, Marcus Mariota will likely serve as his backup. The Eagles, who have lost two consecutive games, can secure the NFC East title by defeating the Seahawks and winning their final three games.
In addition, multiple sources reported on Sunday that Matt Patricia will replace Sean Desai as the defensive play-caller for Philadelphia. Desai will continue as the defensive coordinator but will move to the booth. The sources spoke anonymously since the team has not announced the switch. Patricia, a former head coach with the Detroit Lions and a three-time Super Bowl champion defensive coach with the New England Patriots, joined the Eagles this year as a senior defensive assistant after Desai took over as the defensive coordinator. The Eagles have allowed 109 points in their last three games.
