Grimsby Town grieves over the tragic passing of a 16-year-old footballer and his father, which is deeply saddening.

A tragic accident in Lincolnshire led to the unfortunate deaths of Cameron and Dave Walsh. The father and son were involved in a car accident where their vehicle became submerged in water. Cameron, a talented teenage footballer, was only 16 years old, while his father, Dave, was 40.

The incident took place on 6th January, when their Mercedes car veered off the road along Tetney Lock Road, south of Grimsby. Cameron had been a promising player in the Grimsby Town academy, and the football club expressed their sorrow over the heartbreaking loss. A tribute will be held in their honor during the home match against Notts County on Saturday.

Grimsby Town Football Club released a statement, saying, “It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the untimely passing of Cameron Walsh, 16, our cherished youth team member, and his father, Dave. Cameron’s undeniable talent and love for the game made him a beloved figure within the club and among his teammates and coaches.”

The club extends its condolences to the Walsh family and asks for prayers and support during this difficult time. The local authorities, including the police, Lincolnshire fire and rescue, and East Midlands ambulance service, attended the scene of the crash, which was reported around 1.30 pm.
