Cheshire resident convicted of homicide following incident where she ran over her partner with a Fiesta

Judge Michael Leeming informed Alice Wood that she may never be released for killing her partner, Ryan Watson, in May 2022. Wood, a philosophy student, was found guilty of murder for running over Watson with her car. Wood denied the charges and claimed it was a tragic accident. However, the jury unanimously returned a guilty verdict after less than eight hours of deliberation. Judge Leeming remanded Wood in custody and stated that the only sentence allowed by law is life imprisonment. He also mentioned that it would be up to the Parole Board to determine if and when she would be released. Wood showed no emotion as she left the dock. Sentencing is scheduled for 29 January.
