Authorities are conducting an inquiry into an alleged case of arson at the office of Mike Freer, a Conservative Member of Parliament.

Police in London are currently investigating a suspected deliberate fire at the office of Mike Freer, a Conservative MP. The incident took place on Christmas Eve at approximately 7pm in north London. The London Fire Brigade also responded to the scene.

The Metropolitan Police have reported that the fire occurred in a shed located at Ballards Lane in Finchley, the constituency where Mike Freer has been an MP since 2010. He also holds the position of parliamentary under-secretary at the Ministry of Justice.

According to Freer, the rear of the building sustained damages. However, he commended the timely and efficient responses of the police and fire brigade, stating that they arrived on site within minutes. Freer also mentioned that the police are currently investigating the incident and reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspects. The motivation behind the attack remains unknown until the culprits are apprehended. Fortunately, no one was present in the office at the time of the incident.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that there have been no reports of injuries. The incident is being treated as a potentially deliberate act, with further investigations to be carried out.
