Current title holder Alex de Minaur advanced to the championship match of the Mexican Open following Jack Draper’s retirement during their semi-final duel in the third set. The third-seeded Australian claimed the initial set 6-3, lost the second 6-2, and was in a 4-0 lead in the third set when Draper, visibly struggling physically, decided to withdraw. De Minaur is set to compete against Casper Ruud in the final, as the Norwegian managed to defeat Holger Rune of Denmark in a three-set match with a score of 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
